Hi! We’re Niki and Hannah. We fell in love with the game of Mahjong and want to share that magic with everyone! We want all ages and abilities to feel welcome and included. At our table, there’s a seat for everyone!
We are neighbors, friends, and mahjong lovers. The idea was born late one night when we were talking about how fun it would be to set up parties for our friends. We started brainstorming and there was no stopping us! Let us make your next event special!
We are both firm believers in the more the merrier! We love that mahjong is a game that can be played with our children, ages 5-10 (yes, really!), or our grandmothers.
We are located in Tuscaloosa, AL. We offer private events, as well as public lessons & events. We look forward to welcoming you to our table!
Whether you’re are seasoned player or new to the game, Magic of Mahjong offers something for everyone. Our events are designed to be inclusive, ensuring that all participants feel valued and engaged.

I am a pharmacist married to Tommy. We have one son, John Michael. I am very active in my church, singing in the choir and teaching bible studies.
When not playing Mahjong, I enjoy reading, gardening, and watching my British TV shows.
Nina Schroeter

Meet Nina Schroeter
Off the mahjong table, I’m an exercise enthusiast who loves running, getting lost in a good book, and traveling to new places. You can also often find me in the kitchen cooking up something delicious or out enjoying some bargain shopping!
I’ve been happily married to my husband, Daniel, for 25 years and we have three wonderful kids. Our eldest started college last fall, and our son will follow suit this coming fall!
I’m thrilled to be a member of Magic of Mahjong here in Tuscaloosa! I am excited to share my love for this engaging game and create a fun social hub for everyone.
Mahjong is all about connection and community, and we believe it’s the perfect way to spend time with old friends and make new ones. We hope to see you there!

I am married, have two beautiful daughters with awesome son in laws, and four fabulous grandchildren! I have the cutest Aussie doodle named Rudy:) I am a semi retired elementary teacher, a people person of all ages!! And of course love all things mahjong!!

I live in Northport with my husband and my dog! I work part time as an ESL Tutor and also do some communications work for my church.
When I am not playing mahjong you can find me reading a good book, cooking, or traveling! I have been playing mahjong for two years and love sharing the game with others.
Leigh Woods

Meet Leigh Woods
I am excited to join the Magic of Mahjong community as an instructor. I fell in love with the game four years ago when my sister taught me, and for the past two years I have found so much joy in teaching others to play.
When I’m not at the mahjong table, I stay busy with my husband and two teenage sons.
